Overview

Super Tacos El Chihuas2, nestled in the heart of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, stands out as a vibrant spot for authentic Mexican fare. This unassuming restaurant at 517 West Washington St S invites locals and visitors alike to indulge in a broad menu brimming with rich, bold flavors and generous portions. From the moment you enter, the friendly and attentive staff set the tone for a genuine dining experience that blends casual comfort with culinary passion.

The main dishes here shine with authenticity and craft. The Torta Hawaiiana, a hearty sandwich bursting with steak, chorizo, ham, pineapple, and fresh toppings, perfectly balances savory and sweet. The Asada Quesadilla offers a robust, meaty filling layered with melted cheese, making it a satisfying choice for quesadilla lovers. Meanwhile, the Wet Burrito and the signature tacos, like the famed quesabirria, showcase tender, seasoned meats that reflect the traditions of regional Mexican cuisine, elevated by fresh cilantro, onions, and hand-pressed tortillas.

Super Tacos El Chihuas2 is also known for its “Mega Family Tray,” a festive, shareable platter delivering 40 street-style tacos accompanied by rice and beans. This is ideal for gatherings or anyone looking to sample a variety of flavors in one go. Complementing the dishes, the house-made salsas—both fiery reds and tangy greens—add the perfect punch, enhancing the food without overwhelming it.

The restaurant's layout supports a communal dining atmosphere with a clean, spacious seating area capable of hosting a crowd yet maintaining an intimate feel. Its food truck roots are evident in the streamlined ordering process, but the indoor setting brings a welcoming shelter from the Oklahoma elements. The no-frills décor keeps the focus firmly on the food itself, appealing particularly to casual diners, families, and those craving genuine Mexican street food without pretense.

Customers repeatedly praise the freshness and seasoning of each dish. The chips and salsa served upon seating are a warm invitation into the meal ahead, while staples like freshly cooked beans and rice underscore the authentic experience. Drinks like horchata and unsweetened iced tea complement the food well, adding traditional touches to the overall experience.

With an evolving service model now including credit card payments, Super Tacos El Chihuas2 is adapting to its growing fan base while maintaining its authentic charm. It’s a place where locals find comfort and Mexican cuisine enthusiasts discover highly satisfying flavors far from generic Tex-Mex. Whether you choose to grab a quick lunch or settle in for a family feast, this restaurant delivers consistently delicious food in a friendly, approachable atmosphere that invites repeat visits.

Genuinely amazing all around. Went in randomly on my lunch break at work today to be greeted by a very friendly staff. Sat down was given chips and salsa (which was great). I ordered a quesabirria taco, a chicken taco, and the gringa with steak. The quesabirra taco was by the the best one I’ve had in Oklahoma period. The taco was delicious by itself but after dipping it in the consume it only made the experience better. The chicken taco had a great mixture of seasoning on it making it delicious as well. The gringa is made with a red flour tortilla, cheese onion and cilantro with a meat of your choice. I went with the steak. Everything down to the tortilla was amazing. The meat was very flavorful. I am honestly floored that I haven’t heard of this place beforehand. I will definitely be back. If I could give it 10 stars I would.

President’s Day, 02-19-2024, at 7:15 PM, my bride and I went to Super Taco El Chihuas 2 in Broken Arrow. It has a large clean and orderly seating area that could accommodate at least 50 people. There was one other couple in the restaurant and an intermittent stream of take out customers. We were immediately greeted and asked if we wanted take out or seating. When we said we’re staying, she seated us wherever we liked. We ordered unsweetened iced tea for me and Horchata, my brides favorite. The woman [the hostess, server and assisting cook] brought us a basket of tortilla chips and some spicy salsa. Two squirt bottles of sauces, one spicy red sauce and one creamy green sauce were on the table. A commercial hot sauce similar to Tapatio was in a rack on the table along with ketchup. We looked over the menu and I selected the Torta Hawaiiana [steak, chorizo, ham, pineapple, tomatoes, lettuce, grilled onion and avocado in a nice roll] and my bride ordered the Asada Quesadilla and two Asada Tacos. It was all delicious and reasonably priced.

Update 4/17/25 They now accept credit cards. Back for a second visit and to try a couple of Tortas. Carnitas on mine and Al Pastor for my wife. Both sandwiches were filled with well-seasoned meat, lettuce, tomato and avocado. A half of a Tortas is almost a meal. On the side radish slices, a grilled serrano and a lime wedge. Load it up with your choice of salsas and you have a tasty meal. Previous Review Cash only, order at the counter, pay at the counter, limited food truck menu, no bar/no alcohol, drinks are served in the can. It is essentially a food truck indoors. Friendly service, good food. Complementary chips and salsa. I didn’t care for the salsa; my wife liked it. It was crushed canned tomatoes with onion, garlic and maybe other spices served warm. It did have a little bite to it. The ubiquitous Mexican restaurant orange and green plastic squirt bottles of sauce, were my choice. We had the Quesa Lunch Special. It is 3 Quesabirrias with rice and beans. The tacos were filled with fantastic, seasoned, juicy tender beef. Excellent beans on the side. It was a good meal. If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection "Jalapeno Highway" on Yelp. I've probably been there.

Food came out fast and delicious. This place will be one of my new places to eat tacos. Beans and rice are legit and not nasty white people tex mex (but they do have a Tex-Mex tray)

I really enjoyed the food at Tacos El Chihuas — everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious! The tacos were some of the best I’ve had, and you can tell they put care into the cooking. One thing I think could make the experience even better is adding some music inside the restaurant. It would give the place a warmer, more welcoming vibe when you walk in. Overall, great food!!!

For over seven years, I have been reviewing restaurants, and one thing has become abundantly clear: whether it’s a hole in the wall, a franchise, or a high-end establishment, they all share one common feature—a clean, beautifully designed, and well-decorated bathroom. Strangely enough, I’ve encountered places with unimpressive lobbies or average dining rooms, yet their bathrooms were a standout. Don’t ask me why; it just seems to be the case. I mention this because, once again, everything about this restaurant seemed right—with one glaring exception: the bathroom. I wish I could have started this review by raving about the wonderful service, the food, or the awesome tacos (because they were really good). But the bathroom grabbed my attention for all the wrong reasons. For me, a poorly designed or unclean restroom can dampen my appetite. Once seated, I realized this wasn’t a taco truck but a proper restaurant inside a beautifully decorated building. The lobby was inviting, and the decor showed attention to detail. The waitress was quick to bring chips and salsa and kindly offered to get me a drink. Her great personality added to the welcoming atmosphere. Then came my visit to the restrooms. Unfortunately, I have nothing positive to add here. For my meal, I ordered my usual taco test trio: chorizo, brains, and pastor. While they passed the test, they landed on the lower end of the bar. The tacos were good but lacked the authenticity I crave, especially when it came to the salsas—they just didn’t hit the mark. In the end, I hope my initial comments come across as constructive rather than overly critical because I do believe this is a good restaurant with great potential. I genuinely want to see it succeed and hope my feedback is taken to heart. I plan to return soon to explore more of their menu—hopefully, their bar will be open by then!

We ordered delivery and it was delicious. Our food was hot and accurate. We were missing queso but no biggie. The steak tacos were scrumptious. Juicy, tender, and flavorful. My husband got the wet burrito and it was good. It was our first time trying it and will definitely try again
